COMPOSITION OF THE OFFICIAL OPPOSITION SHADOW CABINET
PIERRE PAUL-HUS, MP FOR CHARLESBOURG HAUTE-SAINT-CHARLES
SHADOW MINISTER FOR SAFETY PUBLIC AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Quebec City, August 30, 2017 – Leader of the Official Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Andrew Scheer, announced today the new Conservative Shadow Ministers.
Pierre Paul-Hus, MP for Charlesbourg – Haute-Saint-Charles, who has served for the past two years as the Official Opposition Associate Critic for National Defence, has been promoted to Minister of the Shadow Cabinet responsible for Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. As such, Mister Paul-Hus will question the Minister of Public Safety and the government on the issues such as the legalization of marijuana, the control and security of our borders and the changes made to Bill C-51 on Anti-terrorism act.
“I would like to thank our leader Andrew Scheer for placing his confidence in me and entrusting me with these important responsibilities. Given the current situation in Canada and around the world, public safety has never been more important to Canadians of all regions including my own. As in my previous position, I will continue to hold accountable this failed Trudeau government.
In preparation for the fall legislative session, the National caucus of the Conservative Party will be meeting in Winnipeg, Manitoba next week.
