Justin Trudeau confirms he is against the third link

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ottawa, ON – The leader of Canada’s Conservatives and of the Official Opposition, the honourable Andrew Scheer said today that the hiring of Steven Guilbeault as a new advisor to Justin Trudeau confirms that the Prime Minister will do nothing to facilitate the construction of the third link in Quebec City.
“This hiring sends a clear signal that Justin Trudeau and his MPs Jean-Yves Duclos and Joel Lightbound will do everything in their power to prevent the construction of the third link”, said Scheer.
Steven Guilbeault has always been a vocal opponent to the third link project. “The third link will not happen. This is a political pitch to please voters in Quebec City’s south shore suburbs”, he told Radio-Canada just last month.
“Only the Conservative government I will lead in 2019 will be a partner and a promoter of a third bridge to the east. Mobility issues are important in the Greater Quebec City area and I sincerely believe that a third link would be an important element to address that situation”, said the Conservative leader.
